Parade & Festival
is a Sweet
Holiday Tradition
he Association of Poinciana Villages welcomed the holiday season with a
community-wide Winter Fun Parade and Festival on Sunday, December
13. This free holiday event had lots of activities for everyone including
appearances by Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves as well as several bounce
houses. There were also delicious food vendors to satisfy culinary cravings
along with numerous educational and informational exhibitors.
The parade featured 46 colorful floats and other entries and cash prizes
were awarded to the best floats. Best Overall Float went to Studio 5-6-7-8
which received $1,000, Second Place went to Raise the Barre which received
$500 and in Third Place, Osceola County School District which was awarded
$300. In addition, the Living Water was awarded a special mention and they
received $200.
Musical performances during the parade featured the Discovery Intermediate
Band and Liberty High School Band. The “Battle of the Bands” winner was
Discovery Intermediate Band who was awarded $500 and Liberty High
School Band was awarded $500.
Musical entertainment at the festival featured Disney Springs’ band, La Calle.
“It was a wonderful way to welcome the holiday season,” said Mark
Maldonado, Community Association Manager for the Association of
Poinciana Villages. “The day was filled with family fun and togetherness for
everyone in APV. Thank you to everyone who sponsored, participated in,
exhibited at or attended this wonderful community celebration. ”
