Poinciana Happenings
On Friday, January 27, 2017, the red
carpet was rolled out for 175 attendees
at the Poinciana Beautiful Awards Gala.
The moment residents and guests walked
through the front door of the Community
Building they knew that this wasn’t any
normal Poinciana Event. As guests walked
down the red carpet they were greeted by
Mark Maldonado and led into the ballroom
for a picture in front of the Association of
Poinciana Villages backdrop. From there
you could see the tables and chairs draped
in black and gold. Atop each table was an
elegant arrangement of bright red roses.
In the front of the tables the live music
was performed by the remarkable Nova
Jazz. On the large screen overhead was a
slideshow highlighting all 70 nalists’ homes. Once the guests found their seat,
they were served hors d’ oeuvres and beverages by an attentive wait staff who,
for the rest of the evening, made sure everyone wanted for nothing.
At 7:00PM Carol Saragusa, our host for the evening, came on stage to
welcome everyone to this amazing event. From the moment she started
speaking you felt at ease, comfortable and appreciated. Carol introduced guest
speakers Mark Maldonado and Dave Tomek. Mark expressed his appreciation
to all the residents who hit a home run with their homes and landscaping and
shared thanks for allowing him to work hard for this community. Dave Tomek,
administrator of the Osceola County Commissioners, spoke of the new Aquatic
Center in Vance Harmon Park, set to open in the spring. In addition, Carol
introduced to the community, for the rst time, John Kraivec. John is APV’s
newest team member and our new Lifestyles Event Coordinator. Then, it was
on to dancing and mingling with neighbors, both old and new. The music was
perfect for this event. Nova Jazz preformed many jazz classics to the delight of
the audience, which was evident by watching the toe tapping of everyone on
and off the dance oor.
The evening ended all to soon with door prizes given by two of our sponsors.
Larosa Realty and Bancshares raf ed off a large outdoor grill. In addition,
Larsen and Associates Law Group raf ed off two $150.00 Lowe’s gift cards.
