he Association of Poinciana Villages would
like to wish all the residents of Poinciana a
safe and wonderful Independence Day, and
devote this article to why we all celebrate it in
such a grandiose way every year.
We all know that 241 years ago the United
States of America gained independence and
became a free nation. No other nation in the
world has the freedoms that we embrace, and
they all stem from July 4, 1776.
Independence Day is a day that is celebrated
throughout this great nation by family and
friends enjoying not only a day off from
work, but picnics, fireworks and celebrations.
Whether we do it in our own backyards or at
an amazing festival like the one that Poinciana
shared on July 1st, we celebrate. We wave flags
and light up the sky with explosive displays of
light that make adults exclaim sighs of awe and
children express cheers of joy and excitement.
Quite often we will also see some with tears of
pride for the great nation that we all share and
call home.
Independence Day stands for freedom. The
freedom to work where we want, live where
we want, and believe what we want to believe.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The freedom to speak our minds and
befriend whoever we want. We can
read what we want to read, we can
write what we want to write.
In this magnificent nation in which
we live, freedom is one of the most
celebrated factions in our day-to-day
lives. Poinciana prides itself as one
of the most diverse communities in
the state. Whether you are a native
American or originate from any other
place on this planet, if you are a
citizen of the United States you all have
this precious, intangible right we call
freedom. That freedom was given to us
over two centuries ago, and is the main
reason why the 4th of July is one of the
most celebrated holiday in America.
We remain free because of the brave
men and women of our military, and for
them we give our endless thanks and

the Association of Poinciana Villages,
its honored Board of Directors and
FirstService Residential wish that even
after the July 4th celebration is over
we continue to carry the pride and
gratitude for this great nation in our
hearts throughout the rest of the year.
