Several Months of Amazing Events
at the Association of
Poinciana Villages
Poinciana’s annual
Spring Fest was
held March 25 and
drew hundreds
of residents to
celebrate Easter at one of our most popular events of the year. The event
featured pictures with the Easter Bunny, age-grouped egg hunts, and even a
helicopter egg drop.
Perhaps one of the biggest announcements was the completion and opening
of Phase II of Vance Harmon Park in March. This incredible facility not only
serves as a state-of-the-art sports complex, but it’s also one of our latest
and greatest event venues. Thanks to a joint partnership between APV and
Osceola County, phase two of Vance Harmon Park includes renovations
to the football and softball fields, two new outdoor basketball courts, two
playgrounds, a dog park and an amphitheater. The addition of the park’s
amphitheater is particularly exciting because it allows us to bring live music
and entertainment to the stage with APV’s “Concerts in the Park” series as
well as family fun with our “Movies under the Stars” events. Families can put
down the remote, bring their blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening
together outdoors, instead of inside in front of the TV.
Another one of APV’s wonderful venues is the Anthony DePalma Building. Earlier
this year, renovations were made to the building’s floors, windows, walls, lighting,
restrooms and kitchen. Renovations were also performed on the building’s
exterior, to conform with the other building in the APV Activity Campus. Shortly
after these impressive updates were completed, the Anthony DePalma Building
was used for our second annual Adult Prom, where we crowned this year’s Prom
King and Queen. The building is also available to rent for private events. For
more information on rental options, please contact Eldonia Gonzalez at 863-
427-0900 ext. 502 or
.
This year may be half over, but we are just getting started! Stay tuned for
more event announcements and emails coming your way soon.
T
hank you to everyone who joined us recently for our incredibly popular
Fireworks Spectacular! The skies truly came to life over the Vance Harmon Park
Amphitheater with fireworks, music and cheers. And we all enjoyed the APV Luau
at the end of July, which featured music, games, food and summer fun.
The fun doesn’t stop there because The Association of Poinciana Villages
Lifestyles Department already has many exciting plans in the works for future
events – including our upcoming Back to School Family Bingo Night on
August 11 and our annual holiday celebrations later this year.
As we enjoy all the fun times this summer, it’s also a nice time to reflect back
on the amazing events and activities from the first half of 2018. We kicked
off the year with our second annual Poinciana Beautiful Awards gala, where
we honored the winners and finalists of
our 2017 Poinciana Beautiful Homes of
The Year. We were thrilled to see so many
APV residents participate and how this
program has encouraged residents to take
pride in their homes. Nominations are now
being accepted for the 2018 Poinciana
Beautiful Awards and APV residents who
are interested in entering can send a
picture of the complete front of their home,
including landscaping, to Ivonne Martinez
at
. Entries can also
be sent to The Association of Poinciana
Villages, Poinciana Beautiful, 401 Walnut
Street, Poinciana, FL 34759.
